Description

Situated along the coast of the South China Sea, adjacent to Hong Kong and Macao, Guangdong Province is the most southern province. With superior geographic environment and natural conditions, it has undergone rapid economic development in recent years. At the end of 1986, the population was 63.47 million. The gross output value in industry and agriculture was 96.36 billion yuan. Contribution to the national income was 56.52 billion yuan, and per capita income was 897 yuan.
