Description

Guizhou Province belongs to the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. It has many minority people in the mountain areas of the southwest part of the country. At the end of 1986, the population was 30.08 million. Having pleasant weather and abundant resources such as coal, timber, water supply, aluminum, mercury, etc., Guizhou produces some light industrial products such as cigarettes and liquor, etc., that are famous domestically and abroad. However, transportation is not convenient and the production level is relatively low. In 1986, the gross output value in industry and agriculture was 18.74 billion yuan. Contribution to the national income was 12.12 billion yuan, and per capita income was 406 yuan.
